Haaland secures back-to-back Premier League Golden Boots

Erling Haaland has won the Premier League Golden Boot for a second successive season.

Manchester City clinch record fourth consecutive Premier League title. The Norwegian striker is once again the league’s top scorer, netting 27 goals, surpassing runner-up Cole Palmer of Chelsea, who scored 22 goals.

Following his record-breaking 36 goals in his debut season, the 23-year-old becomes only the fifth player to win the award outright in consecutive seasons.

Haaland claims second successive Golden Boot.

“To win the Golden Boot again is very special for me,” Haaland said. “I’m so proud to make my contribution to help this incredible team and my amazing teammates. I have to thank all my teammates for helping me to this award and the coaches and staff that work so hard. And a thank you to the fans who give me so much support and I always enjoy celebrating goals with you!”

Haaland is also the first City player to win the gong more than once, with Carlos Tevez sharing the prize with Dimitar Berbatov in 2010/11 and Sergio Aguero hitting 26 in 2014/15.

He has enjoyed an incredible first two seasons at City, winning six major honors, including back-to-back Premier League titles as part of our record-breaking run of four in a row. This season, he scored hat-tricks against Fulham and Wolves and crucial goals against Liverpool, Spurs, Manchester United, and Chelsea.

His latest individual award follows nominations for the Premier League Player and Young Player of the Season awards, after winning both in 2022/23. Additionally, Haaland won the Best Men’s Player at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards and finished second in the Ballon d’Or voting.

Overall, Haaland now has 90 goals in 96 games across all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s dominant side, with 38 of those goals coming this season. He has the opportunity to increase this tally in next Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley, where City aims to become the first club to win consecutive Premier League and FA Cup doubles.

Our No.9 has accumulated an impressive array of personal records and honors at City. He is the fastest player to reach 60 Premier League goals, achieving this in just 63 games. Haaland has already scored six hat-tricks in the Premier League, with only seven players in the league’s history having more. In his first season, his record-breaking 36 goals set the mark for the most ever scored in a single season, and he also became the English club record holder for the most goals in all competitions with 52.

Congratulations to Erling on another remarkable achievement and an outstanding first two seasons in the Premier League.
