In an update dated May 28, Forbes wrote: “Taylor Swift, who was honored as a billionaire in October 2023, is getting richer thanks to her global tour. She now owns $1.3 billion – more than $200 million compared to the $1.1 billion last year.”
In the list of female billionaires in showbiz up to this point, Swift ranks behind Rihanna ($1.4 billion), Kim Kardashian ($1.7 billion), and television mogul Oprah Winfrey ($3 billion).
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour continues to dominate the global concert market. Setting a record in December 2023 as the first tour to gross over $1 billion in ticket sales (according to Pollstar), The Eras Tour is projected to bring in over $2 billion by the end of this year.
Additionally, Swift’s wealth has rapidly increased due to a series of streaming records set by her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, featuring a total of 31 songs. According to the Hollywood Reporter, on its release day alone, The Tortured Poets Department garnered 310 million online streams, surpassing the record set by Midnights – an album she released in 2022 (185 million streams).
The songs from the new album have been added to the setlist for the ongoing European leg of The Eras Tour.
In October 2023, the financial company Bloomberg confirmed that Taylor Swift had a net worth of approximately $1.1 billion, thanks to earning hundreds of millions of dollars from music rights sales and touring. Forbes referred to this as a “miracle” because Swift’s wealth primarily comes from music without a significant contribution from business ventures like many other celebrities.
