The manager of Bayer Leverkusen expressed hope of Cristiano Ronaldo’s service in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Ronaldo is facing the opportunity to return to Europe to play.

The reigning Bundesliga champions have caused a stir with their efforts to bring CR7 back to Europe to compete. The top brass of “Las Aspirinas” are still seriously considering this move.

According to Sport, this is a request put forward by Alonso to the club’s leadership. The Spanish coach understands the challenges he and his team will face in the upcoming season as they compete in the Champions League. Therefore, the 42-year-old strategist needs quality personnel additions.

Ronaldo would be seen as a solution to strengthen the team and add experience. The Portuguese superstar is expected to be the missing piece to help HLV Alonso’s squad advance further in the Champions League.

However, the 39-year-old player still has a contract with Al-Nassr until 2025. His current club won’t make it easy for their star player to leave. Additionally, Ben Jacobs, talkSPORT’s Saudi Arabia football correspondent, mentioned another financial aspect.

He revealed: “The renewal of the broadcasting rights of the league will happen in 2025. Having Ronaldo stay for the next rights cycle is seen as important.”

Despite nearing 40, Ronaldo maintains an impressive form at Al-Nassr with 39 goals and 12 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions. However, the superstar has been unable to lead Al-Nassr to victory in the Saudi Pro League.
