With five Ballon d’Or wins, Ronaldo stands second on the list of players with the most Ballon d’Or titles. This showcases Ronaldo’s extraordinary effort and outstanding talent.

At the national team level, Ronaldo is the highest-scoring male player in history, with over 125 goals in more than 200 appearances for Portugal, winning one EURO championship.

Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or five times.

There is still much debate as Ronaldo has not won the most prestigious team title, the World Cup, something that Beckenbauer, Zidane, and Bobby Charlton have achieved. However, his five Ballon d’Or awards, numerous club-level titles, and the EURO 2016 championship with the Portugal national team undeniably secure CR7’s position as the greatest in European football history.

Ronaldo is the only active player in the top 10. More broadly, the top 100 greatest European players of all time, as selected by FourFourTwo, include ten current stars: Toni Kroos (ranked 100), Erling Haaland (98), Harry Kane (95), Robert Lewandowski (90), Kylian Mbappe (69), Kevin De Bruyne (35), Sergio Ramos (27), Sergio Busquets (24), Manuel Neuer (23), and Luka Modric (18).

Recently, Ronaldo was named in the Portugal squad for EURO 2024 (from June 15 to July 15), making him the first player to participate in six finals of Europe’s most prestigious national team tournament.
