Patrick Mahomes Reveals Role as ‘Matchmaker’ in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Relationship

Patrick Mahomes humorously claims he deserves a share of the credit for bringing Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift together. Speaking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback revealed his role in uniting the duo, shedding light on their journey to becoming America’s beloved couple.

Kelce had previously recounted on his “New Heights” podcast his attendance at Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Kansas City, Missouri, last July. His intention was to present Swift with a friendship bracelet bearing his phone number. Though he couldn’t execute the plan, his message reached Swift, prompting her to initiate contact.

As it turns out, Mahomes was the mastermind behind Kelce’s presence at Swift’s concert. “I was the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert,” Mahomes quipped on the show. “He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker.”

Mahomes also mentioned that he provided some encouragement to Kelce regarding the bracelet gesture. “I was like, ‘Dude, just go for it. Go for it,’” Mahomes reminisced about his advice to Kelce. “You know Travis, man. He does it, and he’s a great dude, and I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best.”

Both before and after confirming their relationship last autumn, Kelce and Swift have been supportive of each other, attending their respective events. Earlier this month, the NFL star attended Swift’s 87th show of the Eras Tour in Paris, a significant event considering 87 is Kelce’s number for the Chiefs.

During the concert, Swift made a subtle nod to her boyfriend and his football team by donning a red and yellow top and skirt set. Additionally, she performed the song “The Alchemy,” which fans speculate is inspired by Kelce.

Last December, Swift discussed the public nature of her and Kelce’s relationship in an interview with Time magazine. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she explained. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
