On her personal page, Selena Gomez shares two photos comparing herself from 2013 to the present.

A decade ago, in a paparazzi-shot photo on the Florida beach, the 1992-born singer flaunted a slender waist and an hourglass figure.

In the 2023 photo taken in Mexico, the body of the ‘Slow Down’ songstress has undergone several changes.

“Now I realize I can’t return to the weight or look as slim as before. I am not perfect, but I am being myself. Sometimes I forget how amazing it feels to just be myself,” she shared on her social media.

Over the years, Selena Gomez has undergone weight changes due to lupus, a red butterfly rash disease, and kidney transplant surgeries.

Lupus erythematosus has caused complications in Selena Gomez’s life. She has openly cried while sharing about her health condition. In the documentary film ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me,’ the singer revealed trying various methods and consulting numerous doctors, but the disease kept recurring. Regular medication led to water retention and weight difficulties.

Facing body shaming, Selena Gomez has shed tears due to the harsh words spoken about her. “Many times I lied that I didn’t care about what others said about me. In reality, for many years, I cried alone because of the terrible things they said about me,” the singer stated in an interview.

The 32-year-old artist emphasizes that she is not a model and doesn’t strive to be overly thin. Currently, she uses her voice and influence to condemn the issue of body shaming, urging girls to love themselves.
