Ronaldo shows no signs of slowing down, even at the age of 38.

Ronaldo always has the desire to play regularly, even at the age of 38. Therefore, the number of matches that CR7 has accumulated throughout his football career is truly admirable.

According to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), Ronaldo has become the player with the most appearances in the 21st century, having played 1204 matches. This is also the total number of matches that the Portuguese superstar has accumulated throughout his illustrious career.

Ronaldo is the clearest example of the saying ‘the older the ginger, the spicier,’ highlighting his enduring excellence as he ages.

Ronaldo’s arch-rival, Messi, does not have as impressive a number of appearances. Specifically, ‘El Pulga’ has played in 1047 matches, ranking 4th on the list of players with the most appearances in the 21st century.

In a broader time frame, Rogerio Ceni holds the record for the most appearances in history with 1225 matches. This number is not significantly higher than Ronaldo’s, considering that Rogerio Ceni retired long ago. As CR7 is still in good shape, it is anticipated that the Portuguese superstar will soon break this record in the near future.

Meanwhile, in the statistics for the players with the most goals in the third decade of the 21st century (from 2021 to 2030), Ronaldo does not hold a dominant position. CR7 has scored 117 goals, ranking 6th. This is understandable as Ronaldo has experienced a noticeable decline in form in recent years due to the influence of age.

Mbappe is progressively refining his goal-scoring skills.

In the number one position is Mbappe, as the PSG forward has accumulated 159 goals in the third decade of the 21st century. Haaland closely follows Mbappe with 145 goals. Lewandowski (139 goals), Kane (131 goals), and Benzema (118 goals) occupy the 3rd, 4th, and 5th positions, respectively.
